Petra, described as “the rose-red city, half as old as time”, is undoubtedly one of the Middle East's most spectacular sights. The vast lost city date more than 2000 years back in time, when the industrious Arab people of Nabataeans settled here. The entrance to Petra is a 1 km long narrow passage called the Siq. Reaching the end of the Siq, you’ll catch the first glimpse of the 45 meter tall Treasury, carved out of a sandstone rock face. You might recognise the Treasury as the backdrop of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The site of Petra massive, where hundreds of caves can be seen in the mountainside. We hiked all the way to the Monastery, about 5 km from the entrance.
