The Ischigualasto Provincial Park is a natural park with interesting geological formations in north-western Argentina, near the border to Chile. Taking a tour in this UNESCO world heritage site is a dry and hot experience, with desert landscapes taking you back to the late Triassic period. Some of the oldest known dinosaur remains have been found here. The badlands around the formation are known as Valle de la Luna, and indeed, it looks like a moon landscape. Wind and water gave the soft rocks their own forms and are rather breathtaking.
