Squeezed inbetween its big brothers Argentina and Brazil, Uruguay is one of the most economically developed countries in South America. It is home to some 3.5 million people, where about half of them live in the capital Montevideo. I first spent a couple of days in Punta del Este, an upscale resort town on the southern tip of Uruguay. Then I continued to the capital before visiting Colonia del Sacramento, one of Uruguay's oldest European settlements.
